Universal Studios for dummies who have no business going there

Let me start off by saying I don't know why I went. My husband suggested it, I thought why not? And we went.

All the logistics to know:
We went at 3pm. You cant buy tickets there. All tickets must be purchased online. You buy your day pass for ¥9900 and then have a choice between different express passes. The cheapest of which is around ¥15,000.

I thought express passes would give us speedy queues for all rides. No. They give you fast lanes for either 4 or 7 rides. Some of these are at specific times. And they give you timed access to Super Nintendo World and another area you choose. I bought my tickets at 1.30pm and got 2 ride slots between 4pm and 5.30pm and then Nintendo World from 7pm. The timed access to Nintendo World was kinda redundant since from 3pm they stopped the timed entry. It was a free for all. Since we arrived at 3 we did some souvenir shopping and the 2 free rides. The 2 extra rides are between 2 options.

Jaws Ride – not particularly fun. Kinda cute I guess.

Flying Dinosaur – Very fun rollercoaster for whoever enjoys rollercoasters

Harry Potter Forbidden Journey – Surprisingly very enjoyable. If youre scared of rollercoasters you'll enjoy this. Its very satisfying.

I was so tired I didnt want to wait until 7pm for the Mario Koopa challenge.

With the express pass I was queuing for max 15 minutes. Every attraction showed queues of 70 minutes minimum. Could not be me. I'm sorry. It was 32 degrees sunny and humid.

We wanted to eat at Kinopios cafe but a lot of things had mushrooms and the burger was pork/beef and we dont eat pork so I cant comment on it.

Advice for dummies who have no business going to Universal Studios:

Dont wear sandals. Dont dress cute. It is so much walking. So much walking. So much standing. So much queues. For everything. Queues for food, queues for popcorn, queues for lemonade, queues to take photos. Endless queues. So many people. If youre overwhelmed by crowds dont do it. The music playlist was actually good. I enjoyed it. Theres lockers, there's power banks to rent. Lots of food options. But I am not the target audience. And neither was my husband bless him. For us there's nothing worth queuing that long for.

This is the opinion of someone who feels like a weight is lifted off of her shoulder when I turn off the cooking extractor and I hear silence. So I had no business going to a theme park.

But I bought a super cute overpriced Toad hat and all the staff told me I looked super cute.
