Is there anything that can be done about sidewalks overtaken by weeds and plants?

So, I recently moved to Miyoshi, Aichi, got a new job in the area.
Thing is, I bike to and fro work everyday, and a big part of the path has been overtaken by tall weeds and other plants. In some places, I'm forced to give up biking and push my bike on foot on the road.
Is there anything that can be done about these abandoned sidewalks?
I searched the internet for a solution, and Google had reccomended me a government e-mail address to contact, but even though I sent the route and pictures of the path in question, I've had no response.
