Last month I bought the new Pixel 10 Pro XL through Mercardo Gold from the Google store for 182,900 yen (paid in full).
I also sent in my old phone for the trade-in.
Today I got the email saying the trade-in was approved and I’d get 65,000 yen back.
Instead of a refund, I suddenly see a 117,900 yen charge from Google — which is exactly what the phone would’ve cost if the trade-in discount had been applied upfront.
I contacted Google and they said everything looks correct on their side. I’m pretty sure this is Mercard/Mercari’s billing issue, not Google’s.
Problem is, I can’t get through to Mercard/Merpay support. No response so far. Does anyone know if they actually have a direct phone number in Japan or another way to reach a real person?
Has anyone else run into this exact situation before? Did it get resolved for you?
At this point it feels like I paid full price and got charged again instead of getting money back. Pretty frustrating.
Any advice would really help.
