Smart-Ex Shinkansen booking app won’t let me login

It's a kind of rant from this morning. Sorry, bear with me. I think some of you might already have observed that JR implemented one-time password phone verification from 27th September and since then I am unable to login. I have been using Smart-Ex for the last couple of years and use it to book Shinkansens. Last 26th Sep I used the Shinkansen and from the 27th it won't let me log in. Now I want to download the receipt to apply for reimbursement which I can't do. When I registered a couple of years back, I registered my email for two-stage verification which worked perfectly but suddenly they wanted phone verification too. I think I can get the receipts by showing my tickets which fortunately I have and reregister for a new account. But I will lose all my previous data. And what about my personal info like credit card, IC card etc? Are they going to handle my old account data responsibly? Sometimes these people behave in such bizarre ways….
