Advice on Frebuary Itinerary for Japan

Hello! My wife and I are planning to travel from Brazil to Japan, arriving on February 4, 2026, and departing on February 27, 2026.

Want to see some of the traditional cities of the country and some of the snowy winter regions.

Very unsure about whether or not to go to Sapporo for the snow festival and a day in Otaru. Would take us a flight there and also worried about the risk of airport closure due to snowstorms.

We're not planning on skiing.

Currently considering something similar to the itinerary below, but I'd like some feedback, especially on the initial part: should we leave Sapporo out and focus solely on the Alps? And we have a day in the Alps that I'm unsure about what to include (more time in Kanazawa, Takayama, an overnight stay in the Nagano region, Matsumoto, etc.).

04/02 – Tokyo (arrive 14:30) – Sapporo (flight around 19:00)

05/02 and 06/02 – Sapporo – Festival, city and Otaru

07/02 – Sapporo – Kanazawa (flight)

08/02 – Kanazawa

09/02 – Kanazawa – Shirikawa-go – Takayama

10/02 and 11/02 – Takayama – city and Shinotaka

12/02 – Takayama – ???

13/02 – ??? – Kyoto

14/02 – Kyoto

15/02 – Kyoto

16/02 – Kyoto – Nara

17/02 – Kyoto

18/02 – Kyoto – Osaka

19/02 – Osaka

20/02 – Osaka – Hiroshima (Memorial)

21/02 – Hiroshima – Miyajima

22/02 – Hiroshima – Tokyo

23/02 until 26/02 – Tokyo – city and day-trip to Lake Kawaguchi/Mt Fuji

27/02 – Tokyo – BRA (flight 17:30)

– Any suggestions or appointments are welcome!
