I think if the last stage was despair, I think the stage I’m in is hope. I have hope I can pass pre 2 Kanji Kentei and I have hope I will cover enough material in time.
Ghost of Yotei!!!! Only played aboout 4 hours last night, but the feeling of the first game is back!!!!
Bought some new shoes on Monday. I go to the checkout, cashier looks very apologetic. One of the shoes had been used as the display model and had been sitting out for so long that it had a slight colour difference–not enough that I wouldn’t know if he hadn’t pointed it out, and virtually indistinguishable outside of the harsh shop lighting. I’ve already forgotten which shoe was the display model. Is this okay, he asks. I tell him it is okay. I get a 20% discount on my new sneakers for a difference that nobody has noticed unless I’ve explicitly told them.
Spending lots of time with friends this weekend and I’m excited. Also put in two days of nenkyuu during our local festivals and I’m excited about that tooooooooooooooo
Was at the store picking up some groceries. I was reading the ingredient list on something, and I guess I must have looked like I was concentrating pretty hard, because an older lady walked up and asked if I needed any help. She wasn’t staff, but seemed worried maybe I was having trouble reading the kanji.
I didn’t, but the sudden act of kindness made me smile and I appreciated the gesture.
I applied to graduate school today. A Japanese school, so by snail mail and all the application details were buried in a 25 page document fully in Japanese. Step one to creating a better future for this fifth year ALT.
I had *almost* everything, but forgot glue to stick on the printed address label. When I shared my plight with the cashier lady she laughed and got me some glue. Always appreciate it when that happens. Get myself into a lot of dumb situations living in a foreign country, glad witnesses to my shenanigans can enjoy it XD
I passed my brown belt test over the weekend!
I don’t have allergies so let me say it: this is the best summer weather since we entered autumn 😀
But timing aside, it’s great weather. Can sleep with the window open, can open windows while working in home office etc…
Finally got called for my naturalization interview.
Hoping it goes well…
