Questions Immigrating From The United States

My wife and I are starting to seriously consider relocating from the US, given the current climate and us being a Hispanic household. We have always wanted to live in Japan someday. I have a general understanding of the common practices and routes for relocating, but that knowledge may be dated at this point as it is all information I learned in my High School Japanese classes about 15 years ago.

I have a novice understanding of Japanese language and intermediate knowledge of customs/culture. I don't have a bachelor's degree though, just my HS diploma and the years of experience working for the government in the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier.

My wife does have a couple degrees in communications and marketing, and speaks fluent Spanish. She currently works in public relations as an account VP.

We are both native-born US citizens, and obviously speak native fluent English. We are both in our mid-thirties.

We are trying to figure out the most realistic and plausible way of moving given our current situation, and if anything has changed in the past 15 years that might be relevant.

Are there any routes for her to utilize her degrees, and for me to obtain work without one (or with my work experience)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and we are open to suggestions or any relevant information we might be missing on this topic.
