I recently started to use https://cnexhub.io/ which is a crypto exchange. Their website shows they are based in Japan.
To keep it short they took a lot of my money, deleted my account and refused to respond to any emails. They even blocked me on Telegram. I was talking to their support for a while and then I was just blocked everywhere and they stopped responding.
I am based in the UK and their website shows that trading is permitted for my jurisdiction. The support for the site told me I needed to deposit more and more and then they removed the funds from my account and deleted it.
Their website does not have any terms and conditions so they can't say that I have broken any.
My understanding is that all crypto exchanges in Japan must registered with the regulator. I have checked the website https://www.fsa.go.jp/ and can not find they are registered so believe they are operating illegally.
As a UK citizen does anyone know if I can take this matter to the Japanese regulator for them to look into the exchange?
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give.

You got scammed. Out of the hundreds of legit crypto sites, why would you choose this nobody in the first place, especially considering how shoddy their website looks? Take this as a lesson on thinking critically before moving your money around. Also, just because they say they’re based in Japan doesn’t mean that they actually are. Taking one look at their “Japanese” website should clue you into the fact that it’s definitely not a Japanese company lol.
There is no one to report it to… Their website is a .io domain, which is a british isles territory with almost no regulation, registered through a simple website domain proxy service, http://www.hostinger.com, which has contact information in Lithuania for their “ai” powered website tools, which in itself is an obvious scam front end, for a website which can’t even manage proper english on their main page “Make Easy Your Buy Sell & Trade Crypto Currency” is not even a good translation, and Japanese staff wouldn’t even make that level of fuck up. There are multiple spelling errors that Word would have caught on their front page… Their why choose us page looks like something chatgpt would have created.
Consider this a lesson in how not to get scammed. Real exchanges don’t use telegram, they have proper terms and conditions, have verifiable financials, and can be found on registries like the fsa.go.jp site.
I hope you didn’t lose to much money to these guys, cuz they are gone with your monies.
