So im planning my third trip to Japan and this time i finally want to rent a small campervan to drive through honshu and kyushu and also able to reach the countryside thats normally hard to get to with trains. Im still deciding how long i should go with a campervan, but im probably going for 30-40 days?
If i decide to visit / stay in a city for some days, for example fukuoka, whats the best strategy to handle parking and sleeping? The "worst case" solution would be to drive 30-40 Minutes out of the city in the evening and overnight at a michi no eki.
I saw that coin parkings charge maybe 1000-2000 yen max (capped) and are 24h/day. But i think its probably illegal to overnight on such a parking or isnt it? also its probably not the best solution due to not having toilets / bathroom.
Another option would be a hotel with parking avaibility, which i think is pretty common from what i saw? But of course that would cost the most out of the options.
Hope you guys can help me or give advice what worked best for you. 🙂
