Bit of background: I frequently travel to Japan for work, usually Nagoya, sometimes Tokyo and/or Osaka. I'll be there again in December while I'll be visiting family in Korea. On a whim, I just bought a 1-way ticket from Daegu to Okinawa for the week before my business trip (and will fly from OKA to Nagoya for work, then back to Daegu before returning to the US later).
What's good to do in December? Is it too cold for water activities like snorkeling and diving? Do you need a wetsuit? Also, where are good diving resources for a beginner? I'm fluent in Japanese so don't need English friendly dive instructors.
I'll be landing in OKA 12/8 and staying 2 nights in Naha, then I'm looking at 2 nights around Seragaki (Hyatt Regency) or Onna (ANA Intercontinental Manza Beach). I might flip the two stays, but I heard the Onna area is good for diving and such. I also wasn't planning on renting a car, but I'm reading that it's very recommended in Okinawa?
