Takeshi Niinami (66), head of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives, which brings together business leaders, is now the subject of a police investigation. Weekly Shincho's investigation into Niinami revealed that he had previously been involved in a troubling incident with women in Hawaii.
On the 2nd, drug allegations against Niinami became public when the major beverage manufacturer Suntory Holdings announced Niinami's resignation from his position as chairman. The company explained that the reason for this was that Niinami's home had been raided on August 22nd on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Two years ago, Shukan Shincho reported on Niinami's power harassment and troubles with women during his time as president of Lawson, as well as allegations that he had privatized a condominium purchased by the company. However, further investigations this time revealed that he had been causing trouble with women in that very condominium.
