My partner and I just got back from 18 days in Japan, and I already want to go back! We completely fell in love with the country, and I’m missing it so much already. The food, culture, music, fashion, and onsens were all seriously amazing — honestly, everything was.
I’d love to experience some of those things back home. Has anyone found any products (online or in stores) that can help satisfy my Japan bug? I’m open to food suggestions, Japanese shopping websites, Spotify playlists, and any local spas that can somewhat replicate the onsen experience.
FYI, I’m located in Canada. Thanks in advance for everyone's suggestions!

Same here. Went for 2 weeks in September, and I can’t wait to go back. There’s so much left to experience, and everything back home (USA) is…not great
Just got back from my first visit after living there 7 years ago. I missed it more than I thought I had and now I can’t wait to go back again.
Get a Toto washlet.
Same. I went in April and I miss it so bad. Planning to go back in 2027.
100% know how you feel. Canadian also, and we went October 2023 and missed it immediately when we got back. I still can’t get over how clean everything is, especially the trains who move so many people every day.
Where in Canada are you? There are several stores that sell Japanese products in my area.
Recently got back after spending a week in Tokyo , I miss how clean everything was and how good and affordable eating out /food shopping was.
Where in Canada? There’s J-town in the GTA, there’s a number of oomomos around…
Where in Canada are you? Toronto and Vancouver have lots of great Japanese restaurants. Oomomo is also a chain of random Japanese goods that I love frequenting
getting ready to go on my third Japan trip in a row 😭 once you go once you can’t get enough!
Felt the same when we came so we are going back. Toronto has great Japanese food so that helps but the culture not going to happen.
Omg please suggest some spots I’m going next week
The thing that always soothes me the most is the sandalwood incense. I always make it a point to buy some from a shrine and burn them at home (this time I brought some from Asakusa-jinja).
Amazon should have plenty of products from Japan (a lot of specialty stores that import stuff) as well.
There’s also https://radio.garden/ – a nifty site to tune in to radios by region, so might as well throw some in the background.
Zenmarket.com
I went in march last week and man I think and planning about my next trip every next days aaahhhh
We plan on going to Japan for the first time in May if you can fill me in on what your itinerary was, I would appreciate it
Although not as good or cheap, I found conveyor belt sushi spots that bring back memories. Something I loved about Japan is how introvert friendly it was.
You can find bidets and filtered showered heads on Amazon. Something i didn’t know I needed until visiting there.
When I travel, I Shazam any type of music I hear wandering around. I create a Playlist for those tracks and can recall where i was when I heard them.
My friend loves Japan so much that he always says he needs to go back to Japan.

There is no substitute. Just cheap flights back to Japan on ZipAir.net
we’re just leaving after 14 days and while it was a good experience I don’t think we’ll go back.
Konbiniya and Suzuya (both based in BC) ship Japanese groceries within Canada.
Not sure where you are located in Canada, but try a Korean spa. They typically have hot/warm/cold pools and sauna/steam rooms in the gendered areas, as well as a co-ed space with a relaxation area, additional saunas, and a café.
Had the same feeling when I left after visiting for the first time a few years. So I made it a priority to grind at my job and get the opportunity to travel there everything 2-3 months for work.
Think about the good times you had and start planning your next trip! May not be right away but it helps give you stuff to look forward to.
Get onsen bath salt from Amazon.
Would it be to much to ask what you did at each location?
I also miss it everyday.
I have a friend who is currently there ans she’s been posting her pictures and my withdrawl is stronger as if I just came back home myself
I know your feeling. I have been to many countries when I was younger. Never had withdrawal symptoms until I went Japan. The funny thing is I wasn’t even interested in going at first because I heard they do not really speak English there.
Awww, I have so much sympathy! I am so with you. We also went into sadness upon return from our long holiday so my partner bought and installed Japanese toilets . . . for my birthday! 🤣😂
In turn, I auditioned Sakuraco and Tokyo Treat boxes. I decided to subscribe to Tokyo Treat for six months of combini goodness, then will switch to Sakuraco for curated regional goodness.
I’ve also stepped up on my Japanese language learning classes and study groups.
But best of all, I made an executive decision and booked our next trip for March. He did not object!
It’s a very cozy place.
