Feelings about TV shows and movies using katakana in the captions when a foreigner speaks Japanese.

This happens occasionally when a foreigner who is obviously not a fluent speaker says thank you, delicious, etc. The captions that accompany their comments are in katakana.

I saw this in a movie recently in which the word “Sensei” was captioned in katakana also. Sensei is used in Karate schools and similar martial arts around the world, so I felt using katakana was curious.
