What I think will happen is that the angle will not have any big follow up until after WK. It's the 20th ever show, Tana is retiring, it feels like an end of an era, so a massive follow up angle is mandatory. Over the next two months, I think respect will be built up between the former LIJ guys and War Dogs, with them even teaming together in some way. I can see Hiromu tagging up with Clark for the Jr. Tag League, or hell, Tsuji and Gabe for the Heavyweight side. Meanwhile, United Empire will either split up before WK, or their downswing will continue. The last time we saw GOK he was literally crying, so a change is needed.
Then, the New Beginning comes. War Ingobernables team up to fight HOT in a 10 Man Tag match. The match happens the way it does, and then everyone celebrates. Callum Newman randomly comes out to watch, but then we realize it was all a ruse – Shingo, Drilla, Daiki, Callum, KOB, and the returning Jake Lee (potentially Ishimori too, I think he'd work in this crew) obliterate War Dogs and the former LIJ guys to form a new group. If Gabe and Clark are done after WK, then yes, this means the end of War Dogs and Bullet Club as a whole. If you're hitting the reset button, then hit it properly and end the final remnant of New Japan past.
This way, we get the following line up: HOT and Shingo's killers as the two heel groups, the new babyface group of weirdoes formed by Tsuji that includes himself, Finlay, Desperado, Hiromu and Great O'Khan, TMDK as tweeners (adding Akira), and Hontai (with Yuya as leader and Goto as the spiritual leader) as babyfaces. Four groups, all distinct identities, everyone lined up where they need to be.
