I recently won a pair of JR EAST passes (Nagano, Niigata). I’m planning to go to Japan during the spring time to see some spring blooms.
Tentative dates are 27 April – 5 May:
27 April – (JR PASS Activation Day) Hitachi Seaside park, overnight in Tokyo
28 – Mt Fuji Shibazakura Festival, overnight in Matsumoto
29 – Kamikochi, Overnight in Matsumoto
30 – Nagano, Shibu Onsen, overnight in Shibu Onsen
1 May – (JR PASS expiry) Ashikaga Flower park, overnight in Tokyo
2-5 May – Chill in Tokyo.
Let me know if it’s too much stuff from 27th-1st.. I know I gotta be a lil cramped to make use of the pass. I am open to suggestion to move the plans around! Any help would be appreciated!

As always, it’s unlikely that a JR pass would be worthwhile since the huge price hike a few years ago. Use an online calculator to check whether one would actually save you money.
