Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Shinjiro Koizumi will think about uniting the LDP party and then make a decision to whether to run on the LDP presidential election

Shinjiro Koizumi, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries: "I have been saying that it is important to create an environment in which unity can be achieved so that the divisions within the party can be repaired. I would like to consider what I can do to bring about unity within the party and then make a decision (to whether to run for the LDP presidential election)."

Minister Koizumi made these remarks in response to questions from reporters at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and then emphasized that "it is essential that the presidential election format be one that allows as many people as possible to show their own opinions," making clear his view that a so-called "full-spec" election format is desirable.
