Hello!
I've been trying to apply for PayPay for the past year (Data Engineer) but I can't seem to even pass the CV screening part. While it says english CV, I'm not sure if they are asking for a Japanese-style CV in english or a common english CV ?
Also, regarding what they are expecting inside the CV : should I detail my experiences with more information on the technical side or with a much more laid-back approach ? (For exemple, companies in France often like to read "I did X" "Thanks to my work with Z I was to able to A" and I'm not sure it is going to be very well liked in Japan)
If you have any global tips regarding the company, the recruitment process or pretty much anything you want to share : I'm all ears 🙂
Thank you so much!

I recently applied via referral from an ex-coworker for a backend engineer position using an English CV, and got to the code screen (which I didn’t pass), so at least for some teams, English CV is fine. But it might be different for others.
As for the lack of response, recruiters in Japan have told me that tech positions (at least for the higher-paying + English positions they recruit for) are getting a lot of applications these days, so it might be just that there are too many applications. So you probably want to start working with recruiters or getting referrals if possible.
