Will possibly start work in Japan next year, but getting cold feet due to social and political climate. Am I overreacting?

JLPT N4 level, currently undergoing training and recruitment to work at an automotive company as a mechanic (SSW visa). I know some people call it a "slave visa", but the company is reputable and does promise support for adjusting and language learning once I do deploy, possibly next year. They basically want me to get N3 and are willing to help me study for it. Pay is also higher to what I'd earn locally in SEA, and my senpais working the same job do seem to enjoy it there.

That's not what I'm concerned about. It's the current events. Nuisance streamers and overtourism have seemed to drive more and more anti-foreigner sentiment in the country. Sanseito is getting more and more popular and they kinda like the new prime minister. I'm very interested in learning the language and customs (I even wanna make N2 level someday) and making a lot of friends in Japan as well but I dunno if they'll even just tolerate me there. I make one faux pas and all of a sudden they'll yell at me or to try to get me deported. Hell even just hats are forbidden now based on that Nepalese guy on the train. Or all of a sudden they post about me online and I see just a slew of hate comments.

It doesn't help that my country is known for overstaying visas either…
