This question goes more towards people who understand the hiring/visa process. I am from a Non-English-Speaking country (The Dominican Republic), that alone scares me when it comes to getting hired or being approved for the Specialist in Humanities Visa. However, I have a degree in English Oriented to Teaching, this degree is from a bilingual University in my country, pretty much all the classes were in English except for the first 4 months where received basic courses in Local History, Math, Biology and basic subjects that are mandatory by the Ministry of Superior Education in my country, by law they must be taught in all careers, but other than those first 4 months, everything else in the 4 year degree was taught exclusively in English. Additional to my degree, I also have a 300-hour TEFL certification, nearly 8 years of experience in teaching English, I've taught in a Language Academy and in Schools, in one school I was the official English teacher for 3rd to 8th grade, in the other school where I still work, I am a Cambridge English Reinforcement teacher, I assist students who want to perfect their English in afternoon hours after their classes end, it's a voluntary after-school extra curriculum class. So basically, I have 8 years of English Language Teaching experience, I have a TEFL certification and I also have a bachelor's degree in a career related to English.
I've checked the websites of many programs and Eikaiwas, some programs like JET are exclusively for US citizens, others seem to be only for citizens of developed English-speaking countries like the US, UK, Canada, etc. As for Eikaiwas, I've noticed some inconsistencies, some of them require you to have received an education conducted in English for at least 12 years (this sounds to me like basically just having your entire school years in an English-Speaking country), however other Eikaiwas don't mention this on their websites, more specifically "Gaba" and "AEON", they seem to be more flexible on this regard, but I'd rather ask people who know more about this. Could someone here with more experience on this topic enlighten me?
