This isn't about smartphone addiction or anything, I barely use my phone, which is why i am using an old iphone my wife gave me a couple years ago as a hand me down, and since it is starting to malfunction, I was thinking I'd get one if those cheap flip phones, because I am clearly an ojiichan already.
EDIT: should have clarified, I am not talking about phones with folding screens, I mean the old style flip phones, with numeral keyboards and such.
However, there are a couple of conveniences I'd like to keep if possible, and I couldn't get a straight answer from the guys at the au shop or online, so I thought I'd ask, maybe someone here has one.
Are they able to do any of the following:
– Use the suica app for taking the train/bus?
– Use the Yuucho banking app?
– Use some kind of map? Not for active navigation, but just to look at the map and area around me.
– not super necessary, but do they run line?
I know some of them have android but they seem to be using a different version of it so I am not sure if normal apps would work, especially suica, cant find a confirmation on wether any of them have nfc.
I have an au plan, if that makes a difference, though I'd rather buy unlocked phones whenever possible.
