I’m attending my boyfriend’s brother’s wedding in November and I’m just realizing the prep that I need to do – mainly in the dress, hair, and makeup department.
I started dress shopping today and realized that I’m practically the size of Godzilla according to JP sizing. Went to 4 different dress stores and even the larger sizes felt like a binder against my chest. I’m pretty sure if I flexed I could rip the dress She Hulk style.
I’m looking online now, mainly Zozo Town, but I’m scared to order anything without trying it on considering the sizing difference. Does anyone have any recs for Western sized dresses that ship fast to Japan and fit all the rigid expectations for ladies wear here?
Then the hair. I suck at doing hair, so I want to book a styling session the morning of in Nagoya. Any salon recommendations? All the English salons that pop up just seem to do dyeing and cutting and perms- is it normal to request an updo style from them? And for make-up, I think I can do it myself, but are there any salons that offer makeovers along with hair?
I feel really out of my depths here. I’m going to be meeting a lot of my partner’s family for the first time, and I really don’t want to be the frumpy foreigner in all the pictures next to his perfectly styled cousins haha
