I took this photo in 1978. I believe it is in Naha City but I'm not sure about that. Can anyone tell me where this is and maybe the name of the park or monument or whatever it is. Thanks!

Wow. It has changed so much. When I first moved there, sugar loaf hill was still a “wild” area. Not it is covered in Houses and businesses
Yes that’s around naminoue shrine I got married there a couple years back.
There were 3 statues (Wako Jizo — 和光地蔵) gifted to Okinawa with this one being shown in front of Asahigaoka koen.
There is one in urusoe castle, the one pictured here near naminoue shrine, and iirc one in itoman by peace memorial koen.
There is a small memorial museum close by with old photos like this.
Crazy how different it looks.
