Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka, 17 day itinerary feedback

Hello all. I have tried to integrate all feedback I have received into all the posts about must-do's and it was quite overwhelming. Here is what I think should be a doable itinerary for my family of 4, 1 teen, 1 tween. We arrive on a Monday afternoon and fly out on a Wednesday evening. The last Tuesday and half of Wednesday of our stay, I have left open for anything we may have missed and want to see. Staying in East Square Tokyo for the first Tokyo leg, Shiki Homes in Kyoto for the Kyoto-Nara-Osaka days and then probably the Hyatt Tokyo Bay for the last Tokyo leg, unless I can find a better points deal.

The items bolded are musts for the day. I mapped all the locations out on a personal Google map and tried to place all the locations in an area in the same day. Next is probably mapping out transportation to each, which is terrifying to understand. I had hoped to do some of those cute "instagram" trains but they all seem to be sold out. Japan definitely does not seem to be a live in the moment type trip!

  • Imado Shrine — 9am-5pm daily
  • Sensoji — 6:30am-5pm (main hall), grounds open 24 hours
  • Ueno Park — 24 hours
  • Tokyo Skytree — 10am-10pm weekdays, 9am-10pm weekends, last admission 9pm
  • Hijiri Bridge
  • Akihabara District — 10am or 11am to 8pm daily
  • Sanrio Garden Café — 10am-7pm daily

Nov 5 (Wed) — Tokyo DisneySea

  • DisneySea — 9am-9pm

Nov 6 (Thu) — Mt. Fuji Area

Nov 7 (Fri) — Tokyo

Nov 8 (Sat) — Tokyo

Nov 9 (Sun) — Travel: Tokyo → Nagoya → Kyoto

  • Tokaido Shinkansen to Nagoya; JR Chuo to Kozoji; Transfer to Linimo for Yakusa; Ghibli Park
  • Ghibli Park (11am entry) — 9am-5pm (weekends)
  • Head to Kyoto in the evening

  • Sightseeing on Aoniyoshi Limited Express (if available)
  • Nara Park — 24/7
  • Isuien Garden — 9:30am-4:30pm, last entry 4pm, closed Tuesdays
  • Kasugataisha — Main 7am-5pm, shrine 9-4:30pm, museum 10am-5pm, garden 9-4pm
  • Todai-ji — 8am-5pm (Great Buddha Hall), 8:30am-4:30pm (Hokke-do), 9:30am-5pm (museum)

Nov 14 (Fri) — Osaka

Nov 15 (Sat) — Osaka

Nov 16 (Sun) — Kyoto → Tokyo

  • Tenjuan — 9am-4:30pm
  • Philosopher's Path — 24/7
  • Shinkansen to Tokyo in afternoon, evening in Tokyo

  • Any missed places
  • Shopping

Nov 19 (Wed) — Tokyo

  • Last minute shopping, sightseeing
  • Head to Airport by 4pm
