[Spoilers] SJTL 2025 – Night Five (10/28) Results — A night of complete inconsequence

Wolf watch: absent

Zane Jay, Shoma Kato def Tatsuya Matsumoto, Masatora Yasuda — (10:05, Boston Crab)

  • Post entrance announcements, Kato and Yasuda immediately start bumping chests and pulling each other’s hair.

  • Zane and Matsumoto also clash, though less intense. After a few moments, Zane elects to start with his peer Matsumoto.

  • In his Backstage Comments, Kato mentions the YL Cup; which Yasuda (IIRC) had brought up a handful of shows back. So yeah I think that’s definitely happening soon.

Knock Out Brothers (OSKAR, Yuto-Ice), Robbie X, Taiji Ishimori def Katsuya Murashima, Toru Yano, KUUKAI, El Desperado — (8:52, Ice HIGH)

  • Despe and Ishimori start.

  • Bomboclaat level: 2

  • Post match there’s a little staredown between the to SJTL teams.

  • Ishimori exits the ring right after OSKAR, so he uses the corner to climb up and over the ropes; which OSKAR briefly teases him about.

Boltin Oleg, YAMATO, Tiger Mask def *Hartley Jackson, Kosei Fujita, Robbie Eagles — (11:04, Kamikaze)

  • Fujita and YAMATO start.

  • This was fine.

  • Post match, YAMATO taunts Robbie a little.

*Hiroshi Tanahashi, Yuki Yoshioka, KUSHIDA def *Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo, Yoshinobu Kanemaru — (11:42, High Fly Flow)

  • This is the first and last time Tanahashi wrestles on Sado Island (NJPW’s last show here was 5 years before he debuted).

  • KUSHIDA and Yuki play defense so Tana can get through his entrance and poses without issue.

  • KUSHIDA and Dick start. Dick offers a handshake; KUSHI is skeptical. Dick shakes the ref’s hand to show he’s honest. KUSHIDA eventually takes his chances and accepts, and yes is attacked for it; but he was prepared and blocked the attack.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: light-moderate.

  • Post match, KUSHIDA grabs a fan’s sign that thanks NJPW for coming to Sado so the faces can pose with it. Then they all do a bit of fanservice before leaving.

SJTL 2025 A Block: Funky Karats (Dragon Dia, Ryusuke Taguchi) (2 points) def Jakob Austin Young, Templario (2 points) (point totals prior to this match) — (9:57, roll up)

  • ICYMI none of these Block matches matter, the winner of DOUKI/SHO vs Wato/YOH on the Block finals night wins the Block.

  • Dia and Templario start.

  • This was pretty good. (If it wasn’t obvious by now, I’m pretty tired.)

  • Post match, JAY is shocked at the loss. He argues with the ref/etc and then grabs Guch’s doll of his PR rep persona and chucks it into the crowd.

  • Final Block Matches (30th): Templario/JAY vs Clark/Nagai, Funky Karats vs Hiromu/Gedo

SJTL 2025 B Block: SHO, DOUKI (6 points) def Daiki Nagai, Clark Connors (0 points) — (13:58, pin [after a black metal sheet shot])

  • Customary SHO promo: “You guys are even sub country hicks, this isn't even the countryside! We shouldn't have to wrestle for you. And you guys lost all your matches! You should just give us your points! That one [Clark] doesn't even speak Japanese! You, kid, translate!”

  • He tosses the mic to Nagai. Clark whispers in his ear, Nagai relays: “Clark says cut the country hick crap.”

  • HoT attack. After some double teaming, Clark and SHO are left in the ring.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: moderate.

  • This was actually quite good for a HoT match.

  • Post match, a clearly one-straw-away Clark carries Wheel-San out. Nagai stumbles behind them.

  • Final Block Matches (30th): Clark/Nagai vs Templario/JAY, Wato/YOH vs DOUKI/SHO

SJTL 2025 A Block: Master Wato, YOH (6 points) def Gedo, Hiromu Takahashi (2 points) — (16:26, Falcon blow)

  • YOH is particularly… YOH today.

  • Pre-bell, Hiromu and Gedo offer handshakes. Wato and YOH are skeptical for a second; but unlike earlier, when they accept everything goes fine…

  • …until Wato and YOH turn to go back to the corner, and get attacked. The faces(?) regain control then Wato and Gedo stay in the ring to start.

  • This was perfectly fine.

  • Post match, Wato and YOH kneel over Gedo to taunt the losers a little; YOH gets in Hiromu’s face and they growl at each other.

  • Wato victory promo: “How was Junior Tag League tonight? The first matches here in Sado for 31 years, it was great. We will keep winning and get the trophies. YOH and I will take tag glory! We'll do our best to come back to Sado, and you guys should keep watching. See you soon.”
