Are Foreigners About to Get More Respect in Japan?

It looks like the new policies are putting more focus on people with higher education or specialized skills. Personally, I think this could be a good change — it might help locals see us “gaijin” as more than just temporary workers, but as educated professionals who contribute a lot to the economy.
