Yes, a share house friend was Algeria, was teaching at a Aeon. If your looking for ALT that’s harder as your country as to be on the list.
If you have 5 years of education done in English you qualify to be a language school (Eikaiwa) teacher. To work as an ALT, I believe you need 12 years of education done in English.
I’m in the same situation with you where I do want to go teach English in japan and I’m from Turkey. Majored English language teaching but haven’t had any Tefl certificate yet. I’m researching to find the best course. Which course did you get your certificate from?
Where I work, all the English teachers are “non-native speakers” of English, including myself. The “native speakers” teach subjects like Music, or PE lol
Sure. Join one of the World Englishes 学会, make some connections with Japanese members, and get a job through a connection you make there since such people will be more open to you.
