I'm an EU national, living in the UK.
I am now in a position where I have around 1.2M JPY sitting in revolut (details below). I got into this position in 2022 and I didn't want to convert to eur or gbp because the yen was weak. I was waiting for it to "recover" before converting. I don't know if it ever will, but I realized that I could try investing the JPY that I have and let it grow that way. Is there any way that I could invest JPY in my situation?
I worked for a research company in Japan in 2020. I had some JPY savings from that time. My contract officially ended in 2020, but I was also due to receive a "bonus" when the research item got adopted into their systems. That happened two years later, in 2022 and as a result I got my bonus and now have a small but not insignificant (~1.2M) amount in JPY.
I don't need that money right now as I have a small savings pot in my main currency, so I could comfortably wait out on cashing in the YEN for 3-5+ years. I thought given this, an investment would not be a bad idea, but I couldn't find any way of investing my JPY easily. Looking for any suggestions, thanks.
