Rain definitely affects the number

Surprisingly quite few people at Shibuya tonight, taken at 21:37

  1. Halloween exactly 10 years ago in Shibuya was such a vibe: people wearing amazing costumes, drinking and talking to each other.
I get why the government had to step in since subsequent years got a lot more crazy and chaotic with the increasing risk of going through the same tragedy as the stampede in Seoul.
But I really miss that specific Halloween for its fun and creativity, now I don’t see Halloween at all even in smaller neighborhoods. It feels like the whole celebration has been killed.

  2. Folks just went inside into the clubs to stay dry. Pre-covid, Halloween clubbing in Roppongi while in costume was fun (except for that one dickhead gaijin dressed up as the Joker who kept cutting the drink lines).

  3. “So apparently, the only way to stop 迷惑 in Halloween is Rain?”

    “Maybe yeah… Look! Nearly Empty.”

  4. I went there at 6pm, around when the rain just started and boy it is crowded around the station.

After 8pm-ish, I was so surprised JR line is very empty, even better than your normal average shibuya day.

  5. Nice pics! That was probably the most lackluster 10/31 I have experienced here since 2010 or so (except for 2020/2021 of course). Was probably the rainiest I have seen as well. Thursday was fun though. Still not many costumes. Seems Nichome was fun as usual (according to some friends).

  6. How do you get some colour and lighting in the shot? Trying to teach myself a bit about photography at the moment.

    Failing miserably.

How much post processing / filters did you use ? And what F-stops ?

Sorry for all the questions. I really struggle with night time shots and am genuinely curious these pictures are gorgeous.
