Guarantor expiration on apartment

When I first moved to Japan my company acted as my guarantor, but mid way through my first year the building I rented was sold, and I was transferred by Leopalace (who was my rental company) to a new place, where I've lived now for many years.

Now I can't remember if I needed a guarantor for the new place since I was made to move by the landlord no longer doing business with Leopalace.

I later changed companies and continued living there, where I have now for almost 13 years.

It only just occured to me the other day that I never updated the guarantor information. I'm not sure if I needed to ask the lease has been renewed based upon the original signing conditions, and a Japanese friend told me that the guarantor is still legit, but I'm not sure.

I'm really worrying about it now as it's been many years since changing companies, and I'm worried if I draw attention to this issue I may cause problems.

My renewal is up again next year so maybe I should mention it then?
