I just can’t stand tourists who use patchouli oil. It’s not because they’re tourists, and it’s not even because I am not a fan of patchouli oil it’s because people who use that scent seem completely unable to apply a normal amount. They dump half the damn bottle on themselves every time. It’s way too strong.
There’s a real notion of smell harassment in Japan, 香害 (こうがい)and there’s no way those two I passed by this morning, who smelled like they’d just toured every patchouli oil factory on Earth didn’t bother everyone on that train.
Why can’t they just put on a normal amount?
