Anyone Here Made Some Consistent Supportive Japanese or Long-Term Resident Friends?

People say you shouldn't take advice from people who aren't where you want to be in life, and I see a lot of "do you have japanese friends?" or "how do you make japanese friends?" threads, but these threads often become repetitive with frustrated users sharing their grievances. Totally valid, I have my fair share of grievences myself, but I'd like to try something new. Is there anyone who has a close japanese/long-term resident friend, or even better, a friend group, where consistency and mutual emotional support are met. If so, I'd love to hear the following:

  1. Where and how you met them

  2. Their background (hobbies, interests, job, etc)

  3. A time or times where they emotionally supported you

  4. How often you meet them

  5. How long you've known them

Would be especially interested in hearing from the under 30 crowd, and especially friends you meet weekly or more, but everyone is welcome.

If you havent achieved something like this, please know youre not alone, thats where Im at now. Let's try to keep that for the complaint thread though, as I'd like to keep this one focused on success stories.
please no sarcastic, snarky, or uncompassionate comments. If I see too many I'm gonna have to delete this thread. Hate to say it like that, but I've seen the way a notable minority of people here act and would like this to stay a supportive space.

Huge thank you to any commenters.
