Yelling and commotion near Osaka-Umeda station

I passed by Osaka-Umeda station today and there was a lot of commotion there. Yelling through megaphones, flashing lights, people with flags, and there were a lot of people watching. We don't speak Japanese, but they sounded very angry, maybe a protest? It honestly looked and sounded pretty scary. I asked someone at an information desk, but they told me they didn't know what was going on either. I can't find anything about it online, searching in English. Does anyone know what this was about?

  1. There’s a No hate demonstration anti-racism/discrimination/hate speech. It’s in response to the increase of anti-foreigner sentiment in Japan. From what I found on social media there was also some clashing with some far right-wing people too.

  2. Has everyone just forgotten about the left wing/right wing clashes or what? I mean it’s been going on forever….
