Recently moved to Japan and the place I'm staying at doesn't really have any space for me to play PC games.
Was just wondering if theres any gaming cafe's that anyone might know that do events or amateur tournaments where you can turn up and get involved with other people and play games. Looking to find a community of people that regularly game.
Sorry should have mentioned, anywhere in the Tokyo Area.
Thanks 🙂

As with most threads, “Where in Japan”.
Some fighting game arcades will have fighting game tournaments and some esports cafes will have esports tournaments.
You’ll have to look at the arcades/game cafes near you and their websites to see what they have going on. Granted in my experience or maybe it’s just the crowd at a few that I’ve turned up at, a lot of people just keep to themselves and focus on the tournament rather than mingling. So if you’re looking at it from a purely social gathering where everyone is looking to meet new people and talk to everyone then you may be a little disappointed. In general most seem to be a bit antisocial and really just there to compete.
If you’re visiting an e-sports cafe or arcade on your own time without an event going on, you are also more or less expected to keep to yourself.
I read there were some board game clubs / cafes. Go check a few out. Not Tokyo but the one in Osaka run by this Aussie guy was an awesome expat bar
