National university hospitals set to post worst-ever deficit, exceeding last year’s by a large margin

TD;DR Deficit at 44 hospitals affiliated with national universities are again increasing this year due to rising prices and increased labor cost.

Deficit was 6 billion yen two years ago which increased to 28.5 billion yen last year. Deficit this year is projected to be much more.
