So as if passing kanken pre-2 wasn’t enough. I decided to try level 2.
We’ve actually been having sun lately and I sure am here for it. I’m in that transition where I’m working outside less and less as the lawn doesn’t need mowing and the fieldwork is light and sparse as we get colder. I’m wondering if I shouldn’t spend time sitting in front of a window on some days to get some more sun.
Learning norwegian is progressing. I should have all the grammar, at least, for A1 done by the end of the year. Babbel + another textbook should get me through to A2 (on top of watching/reading other stuff) by maybe March of next year. Not a bad pace for studying it on my own a bit each morning. Shoutout to NRK having a bunch of free programs that are viewable in Japan without a VPN.
Gave birth to my second son this week 💙 Can’t wait to take him home to meet his big brother!Â
We are sheltering a tripod cat who was kind of shy (I guess due to the nasty stuff people did to her) but she starts to open up and looks like she can get along with our cat. So she might stay. That’s cool.
my local Gyomu started carrying ume katsuo takuan again!
Wife gave me the OK to buy my second (and hopefully last) luxury watch if and when I get PR. Now I just need to get off my butt to do all the paperwork and apply!
Grad school entrance exam done. Find out if I passed December 11th.
However, it was an English test. I’m American. Pretty good odds there 😂
My wife was featured in the newspaper last month and the lady who wrote the article about her said that the article will run in the Japan Times. Naturally, wife is over the moon.
Signing a house contract tomorrow. If everything goes well, we’ll finally get out of this little box.
Some lady called 上野樹里 came in into work yeaterday. Everyone seemed pretty stoked, so that was good.
I am sharing this everywhere I can because I am absolutely over the moon.
Got shit-faced on Halloween and dropped my phone at a night club in Tokyo. Called the club the following day from a coworkers phone, they said they didn’t have it.
Last location it was pinged was in front of the club, so today I thought screw it, ill go wait and ask.
LOW AND BEHOLD THEY HAD IT AT THE FRONT DESK, DIRTY AS HECK BUT NO CRACKS OR ANYTHING
Looking online however, it appears I was very very VERY lucky, because lost phone in Shibuya AND on halloween is apparently a womp womp.
Anyways that is all. Big shoutout Club Vizel, and whoever handed it in. Sometimes im reminded why I love this country
