Moving in to Tokyo soon. I’m from PH. Any tips?

Hi everyone!

I’ll be moving to Japan soon and will be based in Tokyo. It’s actually my first time ever leaving the Philippines, so I’m really excited but also a bit nervous about starting fresh in a completely new place.

I’d love to hear some tips or personal experiences from people already living in Tokyo, things like:

How you found your apartment and what areas you’d recommend?

Your go-to apps or tools for daily life (train routes, translation, etc.)?

What surprised you most about living in Japan?

Little lifestyle hacks that made your first months easier?

I’ve been studying Japanese for a bit now, but I know there’s still a lot I’ll have to learn once I’m there.

Basically, I’m just trying to get a feel for what everyday life is really like and what to expect as a first-timer in Japan. Any insights or stories would be super appreciated! 🙏
