Does anyone else’s brain just completely short-circuit when speaking to native speakers?

Hey everyone,

I feel like my English comprehension is pretty decent. I can read articles, watch movies, and I do okay in my classes. But the moment I'm in a real conversation with a native speaker, it's like my brain just goes blank.

All the vocabulary I know seems to disappear, I start panicking about my grammar, and I get so self-conscious about my accent that I can barely form a sentence. It's really discouraging because I know the words are in there somewhere!

Has anyone else gone through this? It feels kind of isolating, and I'm just wondering if this is a normal part of the process and how you managed to push past it.
