2-week around Japan cruise with elderly American parents

I’m deeply skeptical of cruises in general and have never been on one. Now my 75 year old parents who have never been to Asia (whereas I’ve been to Japan 6 times) want to go on a two week cruise during cherry blossom season with a bunch of their friends and asked me to join. Any thoughts? Will the time it takes to disembark and re-board every day in a new city be a huge damper on things?

The cruise starts and ended in Tokyo (so there’s the chance to spend a few days on land before or after), and hits up Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Busan, Kanazawa, and Hokkaido along the way. I’m kinda interested because I’ve never been to Hiroshima, Busan, Kanazawa, or Hokkaido. But also still deeply skeptical, especially since 5 of the 13 whole days are sea days with no port.
