Hey everyone,
I’m planning to study at Akamonkai Japanese Language School in Tokyo for a 2 year course starting next intake, and I had a few doubts about how things work in practice.
First, I’m trying to understand how the tuition fee payments are structured. Are students required to pay the entire 2 year fee upfront, or is it usually paid annually or in smaller installments like every 6 months or per term? It would really help to know what most students do and what the school typically expects.
Second, I wanted to ask about the visa situation. Suppose I start the 2 year program, and by around the 1.5 year mark I manage to clear JLPT N3 or N2 and receive a job offer from a Japanese company. In that case, is it possible to discontinue the course early and switch from a student visa to a work visa without completing the full 2 years?
I’ve read mixed things online. Some say it’s allowed as long as you have a valid job offer and your new employer sponsors the visa, while others mention that schools might need to formally approve your withdrawal first. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through this situation or knows how Akamonkai handles it.
Thanks in advance for your help and advice!
