Landing in Osaka in April. First time advice, please.

Hi Japan travelers,

I will be visiting Japan in April for a total of one week (including 2 days travel time). I'm not sure where to visit but I want to visit Tokyo as well within this time frame.

Can you please advise with places to visit, how to get around, and best way to stay budget friendly?

Thank you in advance.

  1. Please at least put in the bare minimum of effort to do a little research yourself, then come back with specific questions. There are hundreds of posts already available on this sub that will give you inspiration.

  2. Just one week? Minus 2 days of travel, so only 5 days? Well, honestly, I’d just go straight to Tokyo, if you want to go there anyway. Hell, why not land at Haneda or even Narita instead? Saves you the money and time

  3. You need to put some more effort into this.

Do some basic Google research and come up with an itinerary. Come back and post that. You’ll get great info then.

And don’t just say “budget friendly” as it’s meaningless. My budget will differ from yours.

  4. Read the FAQ, thre is plenty of information. Start by opening a couple of travel websites to see that different cities have to offer.

To get around you are likely going to use the train, subway, bus, tram, taxi, car rental… depend where you go. If you want to stay budget friendly, use public tranport, if you do long distance like Osaka/Kyoto to Tokyo, you could look into night bus, but the comfort level is obviously not the same.

  5. sky dive, surf? wrestle bears? history museum? “yes, Im going to Italy..what should i do?”
