Hey guys,
I'm currently working to finalize my bookings and cancel all the unnecessary ones but I can't wrap my head around what I should do for my Tokyo Accommodation. I will be staying in Tokyo from the 26-29th of November and then I will be coming back for another 4 days from the 30th-4th of December.
The options are as follows:
26-29 November:
- Shin-Okubo right next to Shin-Okubo Station
- Ueno more specifically Higashi-Ueno (aima hotel ueno)
- Asakusa (Asakusa view hotel annex)
30th-4 December
- Asakusa (Asakusa Tobu Hotel) (2nd nicest room)
- Akasaka (Keio Presso Inn, Right next to Akasaka station and separate rooms)
- Ginza (Remm Plus Ginza)
- Shiodome (Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Shiodome) (The nicest room out of the bunch)
- Shin-Okubo (Hotel Matsunoi Shurin, separate rooms)
All of the hotels are about the same price, and are 30m2+ for two people, the only exception is Remm plus ginza being a little pricier.
The resolution I came to was two choices:
- 26-29th Ueno, 30th-4th Shin-Okubo. This way we get to see multiple parts of tokyo, and we get the benefit of a good nightlife around the shin okubo area with the excellent transport options of Shinjuku station.
- 26-29th Ginza, 30th-4th Shin-Okubo. Shopping is a big part of this trip so maybe we can part with a little more money and book a room in the Ginza area.
Akasaka was my first choice initially, but I've heard it's very quiet with not much to do after dark and not many restaurants or nightlife after a certain time.
Ideally we'd most likely spend most of the day in other parts of tokyo, and would look to come back to an area where we can grab a bite to eat later in the night, that still has a fairly lively atmosphere. Also we really want to shop! (we probably won't be going to any clubs or bars)
