I’ll be moving to Tokyo for work soon (office near central Tokyo), and I could use some quick, practical tips from fellow expats — especially Indians living there.

1. What spices or food items are you allowed to carry on flight to Japan?
2. Can I take dry fruits or dates, or will customs confiscate them?
3. How do you connect with the Indian community there — any active WhatsApp / Facebook / Reddit groups?
4. Where do you usually get Indian groceries and essentials (in-store or online)?
5. Any good places or websites for second-hand electronics or furniture?
6. For a 1BHK, which areas are best to stay in if my office is in Tokyo city (safe + convenient commute)?
7. And anything else I should know before landing (customs tips, must-carry items, apps to download, etc.)?
