I've been using tofugu's learning guide to learn hiragana and so far I'm on the ya, yu, and yo row but my question is on some pokemon cards I'm able to read the word but not actually translate it I'm wondering am I supposed to be learning something along with this guide? When I look up how to learn Japanese it's always learn hiragana first (or the Japanese alphabet) so I'm just wondering when can I expect to translate what I read into English
