My family of four will be traveling round trip between Tokyo and Kyoto over the new year week. It seems I can buy Shinkansen tickets now but if I want reserved seats I have to wait to buy them 30 days in advance. Is this right? I’m worried if I wait that they may sell out. Is this a risk?
