Hi guys, I'd like to ask if anybody had similar experience with me.
I'm currently a 3rd year student in a vocational (senmon) school in Osaka. I've been job-hunting, but unfortunately hasn't received any offers so far.
This is nearing the end of the year, and not to be pessimistic, I clearly need a plan B.
Here's the main problem:
I am studying design field. Mainly I make 3d artworks using Maya and stuff, so my scope of job hunt is game companies or something related to 3d modelling, including VR/AR, allat stuff.
I also work a part time job at a restaurant, and this year marks my 4th. The manager of this restaurant has offered me to become a staff too in the past (Through part-time > employee level up system)
This is the question: Am I allowed to work/get hired as a full time employee in a restaurant DESPITE having learned a completely different stuff in my major? We're talking from studying designs and 3d modelling to restaurant work.
Some teachers said to me it's not allowed, some said it's difficult (but possible) and some of my friends and seniors has gotten a job in those field (They also studied designs and illustrations, but now they can work in hotels (staff), restaurants (waiters), and other field that has no relation to what they studied)
Again, not to be pessimistic but realistic. If possible I do not want to go back home. So if all goes left in my job hunting, it would be great if I can stay here and work in those fields instead.
If anyone has any infos in this, I'd deeply appreciate it.
