Application for CoE for Humanities Visa myself?

Hello everyone,

I got a job offer that would fall under the humanities visa category. However, it is a small company run by foreigners and they want to send me the documents for the visa application to my home and have me apply for the CoE myself while I am still overseas (at the Japanese consulate in my country). According to my research that is not possible. They don’t want to hire an immigration lawyer to do it for them but they can just do it themselves, right? Can anyone give me a guide that I can show them to make it as easy and smooth as possible for them?

I think they need to register before doing the online application process, right? Does anybody know how long it usually takes to get approved to do such an online application as a member of the company?

I still find this information to be a bit confusing so if anyone could lead me to a guide that I can present them or has another idea how to handle the situation, I‘d really appreciate the help.
