I am travelling to Japan in a few days. I have occasional allergic rhinitis and I always keep the following medications with me whenever I travel. I don't consume them regularly, I only keep them as a precaution and I usually less than a month's use of these items.
-
A nasal spray that has Mometasone Furoate (it is a cortico-steroid).
-
Anti-histamine tablet that has Desloratadine BP
-
An inhaler with Formoteral Fumarate + Budesonide IP (If I get an allergy attack there is a rare chance that my airways get blocked and I start wheezing)
-
An anti-biotic with Amoxycillin 500mg dose for sore throat / sinus infection and another one for upset stomach (can't remember the name now)
-
Medications for Fever (Paracetamol 650mg)
I really don't have prescriptions for this since these were prescribed this to me 15 years ago. Worth noting that I also don't consume this regularly and I keep this strictly for emergency (the inhalers rarely get over and usually they expire out).
If cortico-steroids are a problem, then I can easily live without the nasal spray, and I can switch the inhaler to a salbutamol based one. If I do decide to not bring the steroidal medications with me, can I get these in a pharma in Japan without a lot of hassle?
