Asian American traveling with Yakuza style tattoos

I am a tattoo artist from the US traveling to Japan for the first time for some guest work. I am Filipino but have been commonly mistaken for Chinese/Japanese. I am covered in irezumi style tattoos up to my neck. I don’t speak Japanese.

I have already read other people’s experience with tattoos but since I am Asian looking with irezumi tattoos, would I be treated differently?

I will be going in January so I can coverup my sleeves but my neck will still show. I’m not interested in going to any onsens and I know some places won’t let me in. Just wondering if there’s any heavily tattooed Asian gaijins experiences.
