I love seafood and would love to go to a sushi omakase restaurant in Japan.
Only issue, my partner really does not like seafood. He will eat some while we are in Japan, but he wouldn’t enjoy a full meal centred solely around seafood. I showed him some pictures of some gorgeous restaurants I have found in Nagasaki, and he said it looked “revolting”.
Now out of respect for the chef, I would never have him go to one of these restaurants knowing full well he is probably going to hate it. I could go on my own, but I think I won’t enjoy sitting there on my own with no one to enjoy the food with.
So the compromise we have come up with is a similar experience but with beef. Both of us love beef, so I’m hoping to find somewhere that does a similar experience but I’m not really sure what it would be called? Is it still Omakase? Looking online it seems beef “omakase” is beef bbq, which is an experience in itself but I’m hoping there is something more personal like omakase.
We are going to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagasaki and Fukuoka on our trip. Nagasaki we have a lot of time free so that would be preferred.
