I arrived in Japan about a week ago to open my company under the Business Manager visa (under the past conditions for now, as the visa was accepted before the law). I already have the 5 million yen ready on a Wise account.
Under the advice of my immigration lawyer, I went to a Japan Post Bank office yesterday to open my bank account in order to make the transfer from Wise to this bank account, to be able to initiate the opening of my company, and ask for my first-year extension. However, they explained to me that they couldn't accept any money transfer from overseas anymore, and so the 5 million yen couldn't be transferred onto my account until I get my MyNumber card ready (it's currently being processed) and until I have stayed 6 months in Japan. We tried to discuss it with my lawyer and asked them again today, but they gave us the same answer, and they confirmed by calling their call center.
Have any of you already been in that situation? Were you able to find a different solution to initiate the opening of your company?
